Plastic machinery is inseparable from the production of plastics, but failures often occur in daily use. However, many users are unable to cope with the failures or even do not know the faults. Below we explain the two common failures of extruders for our plastic filament extruding machine.
1. Scorch
1） The phenomenon of scorching
(1) The temperature reflects extremely high, or the temperature control instrument fails, causing the plastic to be extremely high temperature and scorch.
(2) The rubber outlet of the machine head has a lot of smoke, a strong irritating smell, and a crackling sound.
(3) Granular scorch appears on the plastic surface.
(4) There are continuous pores at the glue joint.
2） Causes of scorch
(1) Ultra-high temperature control causes plastic scorch.
(2) If the screw is used for a long time without cleaning, the scorch will accumulate and be extruded with the plastic.
(3) The heating time is too long, and the plastic deposits will be heated for a long time, which will cause the plastic to deteriorate and burn.
(4) The parking time is too long, and the machine head and screw are not cleaned, causing the plastic to decompose and burn.
(5) Changing the mold or color several times, causing the plastic to decompose and burn.
(6) The head cover is not pressed tightly, and the plastic is aged and decomposed inside.
(7) The temperature control instrument fails, causing scorching after ultra-high temperature.

3. Ways to eliminate scorch
(1) Regularly check whether the heating system is normal.
(2) Clean the screw or machine head regularly and thoroughly.
(3) Heat according to the requirements of the process regulations, and the heating time should not be too long. If there is a problem with the heating system, please find the relevant personnel to solve it in time.
(4) Change the mold or color promptly and cleanly to prevent variegated color or scorching of glue.
(5) After adjusting the mold, press the mold cover tightly to prevent the glue from entering.
(6) If scorch is found, the head and screw should be cleaned immediately.
